CERTIFIED AI STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION OFFICER
Take responsibility for AI transformation from within.
Certified AI Strategy & Transformation Officer combines at least two advanced areas of AI competence in an internal organisational role, bringing together AI competence, strategy, governance and implementation within one organisation.
The role can become a central point of coordination for AI development: initially a defined responsibility or staff function and, as the organisation matures, a starting point for a dedicated AI Office.

THE INTERNAL ROLE
Connect AI competence where responsibility takes shape.
As AI use grows, individual users and isolated projects need a connected organisational approach. This brings competence, priorities, governance, use cases, learning, roles, implementation and scaling together.
The Officer is designed for this internal responsibility: coordinating collaboration and maintaining an overview without taking over other departments’ specialist responsibilities.
DEVELOPMENT PATH
From practical use to internal responsibility.
The pathway connects competence development with possible organisational maturity. Foundation stages offer orientation rather than imposing additional formal entry requirements.
- STAGE 1
Foundational competence
Qualified User · Frequent User
Understand AI, use it responsibly and build shared foundations.
- STAGE 2
Advanced qualifications
Specialist · Strategist · Governance Professional
Practical implementation, strategic direction and governance / responsibility.
- STAGE 3
At least 2 out of 3
Combine perspectives
Two advanced qualifications provide the foundation for the professional role.
- STAGE 4
Certified AI Strategy & Transformation Officer
Internal professional role
Coordinate AI competence and transformation within your organisation.
- STAGE 5
Organisational responsibility
Central responsibility · staff function · coordination
The responsibility may be formally embedded according to organisational needs.
- STAGE 6
AI Office
Possible further development
Where scale and maturity justify it, a cross-functional AI Office may develop. Not every organisation needs this structure.
THE 2-OUT-OF-3 MODEL
Connect perspectives. Develop an internal profile.

Certified AI Strategist + Certified AI Governance Professional
Strategy + governance
The right combination depends on the task, organisational structure and existing AI maturity.
EMERGING ORGANISATIONAL ROLES
AI needs clear responsibility.
AI responsibilities often span IT, HR / learning, legal / compliance, business units, innovation and leadership. The Officer connects these perspectives, creates transparency and helps clarify ownership, considering business needs, competence development and governance together.
Coordinate rather than replace specialist departments: each retains responsibility for its domain.
ORGANISATIONAL EMBEDDING
A role can be the starting point for a structure.
Defined responsibility
One person takes on a clearly defined coordination responsibility.
AI staff function
Depending on the organisation, the role may be embedded close to leadership, transformation or innovation. No specific reporting line is prescribed.
Cross-functional network
IT, HR / learning, legal / compliance, business units, data and communication work together.
AI Office
Where scale and maturity make it useful, a dedicated structure may emerge. Neither a staff function nor an AI Office is a mandatory development step.
INTERNAL COLLABORATION
A coordinating role. Shared responsibility.
